Wellness for Women and Couples

Specialized Counseling & Psychotherapy
to Help You Meet Life’s Challenges and Feel Well

Hello and thank you for visiting. My name is Dr. Nicole Kangas. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Social Psychologist specializing in Women’s Mental Health. I help women with a range of issues including relationship difficulties, stress and mood issues, work and life transitions, grief and loss, trauma recovery, and more. My practice also has a special commitment to helping women with the emotional and psychological issues related to reproductive health, including infertility, birth trauma, perinatal/infant loss, pregnancy and postpartum issues, and challenges associated with parenthood. My passion for working in these areas stems from a unique blend of both personal and professional experience.

It is not uncommon to feel alone when you are struggling with problems. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and supportive space for women and their partners to examine their life experiences, address their challenges, and make the changes they desire. I believe that all people are resilient and capable of working through pain and obstacles in order to live their best life.

I also understand that deciding to seek professional help is a big investment, and finding the “right” person to work with is extremely important. My website provides information about me, the services I offer, and my treatment approach. I hope that it will give you a sense of how I work with clients, and how I might be of service to you. Please contact me to learn more about how we can work together. I want you to know that you are not alone, that you can feel better, and that creating the life you want and deserve is possible.

Nicole Kangas, PhD, JD, LMFT
